This COA 2023 event review covers the conference opening and Kangli Orthopaedics’ exhibition presentation. The manufacturer showed trauma, intramedullary nail, spine fixation and craniomaxillofacial (CMF) product families at the event.

About ten attendees gather around a blue-and-white exhibition stand with glass display cases, information screens and overhead signs reading KANGLI MEDICAL.

The COA 2023 opening session

The opening session featured a speech by Chairman and Academician Zhang Yingze of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He welcomed domestic and international guests and spoke about the development of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association conference.

The event was presented as the 15th Chinese Orthopaedic Association event, while the opening remarks noted that 14 sessions had already been held. COA 2023 recorded over 15,000 participants and more than 28,000 submissions.

The remarks also identified intelligent and minimally invasive approaches, big data and AI as important directions for future medical development. The conference had hosted its first China Orthopedic Innovation and Transformation Achievement Exhibition in 2019, highlighting innovation and transformation in orthopaedics.

COA 2023 used the theme “Innovation and Transformation”. The programme also included an international exchange element: Wolfhart Puhl, founding chairman of the German-Chinese Orthopedic Society, sent a video message about Germany’s role as the guest country and the value of collaboration between Chinese and German orthopaedics.

What did Kangli Orthopaedics exhibit at COA 2023?

Kangli Orthopaedics exhibited trauma, intramedullary nail, spine fixation and CMF product families. The group presentation brought Kangli® together with affiliated companies JMR, HCIF and MingChuang Medical at the exhibition stand.

Trauma and intramedullary nail product displays

The trauma display brought together orthopaedic implants and instruments, including a dedicated intramedullary nail product family.

A glass display case on grey fabric holds orange-and-blue instruments, a black component case, yellow parts and gold-toned trauma instruments.
The close-up shifts from the full stand to the smaller components presented to visitors.

The intramedullary nail display included seven elongated metal assemblies arranged in a glass case. The exhibition presentation identified these as IM, or intramedullary, nail products.

Seven elongated gold-coloured metal assemblies are arranged in a glass case beneath a sign reading “Intramedullary Nail Products”.
This case isolates the intramedullary nail family within the broader trauma display.

Spine fixation product displays

The spine fixation section included screw and rod systems, laminoplasty plates and fusion cages. The product description lists a minimal invasive variation, JZWA; a cannulated variation, JZKA; and a comprehensive variation, JZPA.

A glass case contains four matching spinal assemblies with coloured threaded pieces and additional metallic components beneath a sign reading “Spinal products series”.
The labelled case identifies the spine fixation section of the exhibition.

Craniomaxillofacial fixation system display

The CMF fixation section included micro plates, screws and customised meshes. Kangli Orthopaedics’ CMF product family also includes customised digital 3D titanium nets, while the exhibition case presented a skull model with mesh alongside other components.

Closing views from the COA 2023 exhibition

Later exhibition photographs show the stand in a busy trade-show setting, with participants gathered around the product displays.

A further booth view shows visitors and participants around the counters and information panels as the exhibition continued.
