Overview

Kangli Orthopaedics supplies the External Fixation Sterile Kits as a stainless steel pin-and-rod assembly for temporary external fixation. Each kit combines paired vertical fixation pins, a straight connecting rod, and clamp units arranged around a long-bone configuration. Circular clamp faces and recessed fastener details mark each junction, while sterile packaging distinguishes this prepared assembly from separate upper- and lower-limb instrument sets used to build broader frame configurations.

Self-Drilling Pin Tips and Tapered Thread Form

The fixation pins carry a sharpened triangular tip, and the thread behind it is cut as a self-drilling, self-tapping taper. The pin therefore cuts its own pilot and forms its own thread as it advances, so no separate drilling and tapping step precedes insertion, and the taper brings progressively more thread into contact as the pin seats. Pins are tipped at both ends, so either end can be presented to the driver without turning the pin around in the hand.

Separated Pin Groups for Defined Fixation Sites

The vertical fixation pins are arranged in two distinct pairs with an open space between the left and right groups. This layout creates separate pin zones along the bone and leaves the central span available for the connecting rod.

Carbon Fibre Connecting Rod for Strength and Low Weight

A horizontal connecting rod extends between the two pin groups. The rods packed with the kit are carbon fibre, a material chosen for high strength, corrosion resistance and low weight, so the frame spanning the two pin groups adds little mass to the assembly.

Clamp Junctions That Assemble Freely to the Plan

Each clamp features a rounded body and an outward-facing circular end plate with a concentric recess or fastener detail. The uniform face orientation makes the rod-to-pin junctions easy to identify during assembly while keeping the connection hardware visually distinct. Because the clamps grip pin and rod independently, the pins, clamps and rod assemble freely into whichever arrangement the operative plan calls for rather than into one fixed geometry.

Stainless Steel Build Supplied Ready to Open

The pins, clamps, and connecting rod shown in the assembly are made from stainless steel. The kit is supplied in sterile packaging as a complete pin-and-rod arrangement rather than as a loose selection from an instrument set, so the parts needed for one frame come out of a single pack ready for use.

Configuration Options by Fixation Site

Three fixation plans, each with the pin and clamp count the kit is packed to build, and the connecting rod supplied in a length matched to the site.

Humeral Fixation Application Plan

Humeral fixation plan on a bone model: four pin-to-rod clamps, four traction pins and one carbon fibre rod
Humeral Fixation Application Plan

Four pin-to-rod clamps, four traction pins and a single carbon fibre rod, the shortest of the three plans.

Tibial Fixation Application Plan

Tibial fixation plan on a bone model, with the rod carried clear of the shaft on four pins
Tibial Fixation Application Plan

The same four clamps and four pins with a longer rod, held clear of the shaft.

Femoral Fixation Application Plan

Femoral fixation plan on a bone model, four pins into the shaft under a single long rod
Femoral Fixation Application Plan

Four pins into the shaft under a single rod, the longest of the three plans.

For hand, forearm, elbow, or upper-arm frame configurations, the External Fixation Upper Limb Instrument Set is the related option.
