Overview

Kangli Orthopaedics manufactures the Humeral Greater Tuberosity Locking Plate for fixation around the greater tuberosity of the proximal humerus. Its asymmetric proximal head features rounded lobes for coverage of the irregular upper humeral region, while the gently contoured body and combination of circular and oval openings provide a varied fixation layout. Within the humeral locking plates range, it is configured specifically for the greater tubercle area rather than for extended shaft-oriented fixation. It is supplied in left and right forms.

Anatomical Coverage Around the Greater Tuberosity

The branched proximal head incorporates multiple rounded lobes arranged around the changing contour of the greater tuberosity region. Each lobe provides a distinct area for screw placement, allowing the plate layout to address the irregular proximal region without relying on a single narrow, straight edge.

Versatile Hole Pattern for Proximal Fixation

Circular, oval, and elongated openings are distributed across the asymmetric head and lower lobe. Their arrangement provides fixation positions across the greater tuberosity region and adjacent proximal humerus, with openings positioned along more than one axis of the plate contour.

Threaded Interface for Locking Screws

A threaded opening in the upper lobe is designed for use with a compatible locking screw head. This screw-to-plate interface establishes a defined locking point within the lobed proximal head, while the remaining openings accommodate the broader fixation pattern of the plate.

Application Areas and Plate Configuration

The plate is intended for use in fixation procedures involving:

  • greater tuberosity fractures
  • greater tubercle fragments
  • proximal humerus fractures
  • proximal humeral fragments

Where a fixation plan calls for additional shaft coverage, this focused plate may be selected alongside a Proximal Humeral Locking Plate.
