Overview

Kangli Orthopaedics manufactures the Tibial Osteotomy Locking Plate for open- and closed-wedge osteotomies of the medial proximal tibia. The plate features a broad proximal section that transitions into a tapered shaft, with circular openings at the ends and paired-lobed slots through the central body. Its contoured layout extends across the proximal tibial region and continues along the shaft without a bulky straight extension.

Proximal Tibial Plate Geometry

The rounded rectangular proximal end creates a wider plate profile over the proximal tibia. From this section, the body narrows progressively toward a rounded distal tip. This tapered geometry gives the implant a continuous surface from the osteotomy region into the tibial shaft.

Paired-Lobed Slots for Plate Adjustment

The shaft openings consist of repeated paired-lobed channels with rounded ends and narrower central waists. This slot configuration accommodates plate translation before screw tightening, supporting longitudinal positioning along the tibia while maintaining the alignment of the opening pattern with the plate body.

Locking Screw Openings

Circular openings are located at the broad proximal end and along the tapered section of the plate. These openings define the interface for locking screw placement, with the screw head seating within the plate as the implant spans the osteotomy area.

Applications in Tibial Osteotomy Fixation

The plate is intended for use in procedures involving:

  • Open-wedge osteotomy of the medial proximal tibia
  • Closed-wedge osteotomy of the medial proximal tibia
  • Proximal tibial fixation associated with medial or lateral unicondylar osteoarthritis
  • Fixation associated with idiopathic or traumatic varus or valgus of the proximal tibia

For procedure planning, it may be evaluated alongside the Proximal Tibial Medial Locking Plate when a dedicated osteotomy plate is required for the tibial construct.
