Kangli Orthopaedics manufactures the Distal Fibular Lateral Locking Plate from pure titanium for fixation applications involving the lateral fibula and lateral malleolus. Its design combines a widened, irregular distal end with a long, narrow shaft, oval positioning slots, and aligned circular locking holes. In the Type IV distal lateral fibula configuration, the broad end corresponds to the distal region while the shaft extends along the adjoining fibular segment. It is supplied in left and right forms.

Widened Distal Profile for the Lateral Malleolus

The widened distal profile contains closely spaced openings across the plate head, while the shaft narrows into a longitudinal arrangement along the fibula. This configuration concentrates screw positions around the lateral malleolus instead of extending the broad contour along the full plate length.

Oval Slots for Plate Positioning

Oval slots mark the transition between the broad distal head and the aligned shaft openings. They provide room for longitudinal plate adjustment before the locking holes are used, allowing the shaft to be positioned along the intended line of the lateral fibula.

Longitudinal Locking Holes Along the Shaft

Circular locking holes continue in a longitudinal row through the narrow shaft, organizing screw locations along the fibular segment. A gently chamfered perimeter and rounded terminal tip create a gradual edge transition at the shaft margins.
