Kangli Orthopaedics supplies titanium alloy self-drilling, self-tapping screws for distributor and physician workflows involving foot and ankle fixation instrumentation. The pointed tip initiates the entry path, the thread forms its own mating path during insertion, and the cross-recess head connection holds the screw on the driver while it is carried to the site.

Drilling and Tapping in One Insertion Sequence
The pointed cutting tip initiates the hole while the external thread forms its own path as the screw advances. Drilling and tapping therefore happen within the same insertion, so a technique built around these screws does not carry a separate pre-drilling pass or a separate tapping pass.
Cross Recess Drive and Retention on the Driver
The head carries a cross-type recess. The connection engages the screw before it enters the fixation site and retains it there, so the screw does not come off the driver during alignment and advancement.
Retaining and Non-Retaining Versions
Two versions exist within this family, and they differ in two linked respects. The self-tapping and drilling version forms its own path and is retained on the driver. The other version does neither: it does not cut its path as it advances, and it is not held on the instrument during delivery.
Tapered Tip and Thread Geometry
The shaft tapers toward a pointed distal end and carries closely spaced threads along the working section. The tapered tip begins contact over a small leading area, while the threads continue forming the fixation path as the screw advances.
Titanium Alloy Sizes and Ordering Designations
Screws are made from titanium alloy and supplied in two diameters, each across a range of working lengths. The ordering scheme carries a thickness designation as well, so a code identifies the screw's thickness alongside its diameter and length.
Foot and Ankle Fixation Applications
- Self-drilling screw insertion for foot fixation workflows
- Self-tapping screw placement in ankle procedures
- Driver-retained screw delivery
- Fixation tasks using an insertion sequence without separate pre-drilling
These screws can be considered alongside the Cannulated Compression Screw when the selected technique calls for drilling and tapping through the screw during insertion.
